When I was a small child, you would always find me with a pencil in hand, drawing whatever came to my mind on the nearest blank piece of paper. From a very young age, I had an affinity for interpreting human likeness and body motion, especially that of a woman.
Over the years, my artistic practice had gradually started to wither away to the benefit of values that no longer corresponded to my creative side. I studied, I travelled and I started a career. As I developed other parts of my life, I had lost my commitment to art.

Over the years, my artistic practice had gradually started to wither away to the benefit of values that no longer corresponded to my creative side. I studied, I travelled and I started a career. As I developed other parts of my life, I had lost my commitment to art.
Years later, at a place of uncertainty and lack of self-confidence, I started creating again and slowly rediscovered my old creative self. The reconnection to artistic practice, the passion to capture my surroundings and my values was a mirror to my growing self-esteem and it felt as if a missing piece of the puzzle fell into place. That child with a pencil in hand had slowly crept back to be part of the woman I’d grown to be.
Nowadays, my artistic style is influenced by the values I see in our current society, often as a response to societal stereotypes, the image of self-worth and body image. My work also captures the thoughts, senses and emotions of our everyday life with an abstract component that aims to enable the viewer to apply their subjective reflexion on the subject.
